Review
Amadis DVD and Video to iPhone iPod Apple TV Converter is a ripper and converter. It has conversion profiles intended for Apple products like the iPhone, iPod or Apple TV. There are 22 profiles in total. For video, this converter uses both the H.264 and MPEG-4 formats, and you will see that there are quite a few different profiles for each supported device, which vary in formats used and resolution. The maximum resolution you can choose via the profiles is 640x480, but if you go to the right of the screen, you can manually change the resolution to 1280x720.
I spent most of my time with this app in the video converter mode. It seemed to work fine. I used an MKV file and an AVI file to test it. Both formats were recognized and converted just fine. I did experience a lot of pixelation on the MKV file, even when I chose 1280x720 as my resolution.
The DVD ripper part of the suite is pretty simple. Unfortunately, it picks the DVD and copies all of it; meaning it won't let you select individual titles. There is, however, support for subtitles. |
